I clean my makeup brushes with...

Makeup brushes can get extremely dirty very quickly, so it is important to clean them every so often to keep your skin safe and the makeup you use sanitary. I usually clean mine once or twice a month, but it is up to personal preference how often you do this. I only use each brush for one specific thing or area so I rarely fell the need to clean them, which to those who clean them even more often may seem gross, but to me it has worked out fine.

There are two products that I have personally loved to use when cleaning my makeup brushes. One of the products is a typical liquid brush cleaner and the other is a brush cleansing balm. In this post I will tell you my experience using both products and which one I like the most! Hopefully this will inform some of you of some different options for makeup brush cleaners and ways to do it!

The first product I have used to clean my brushes is the Ulta Beauty Makeup Brush & Sponge Cleaner. This makeup brush cleaner does clean the brushes thoroughly and easily. The way I use this products is by spritzing some of the product on a dampened brush and then swirling the brush on my palm and running my fingers through the bristles to effectively get the excess makeup off of the brush. The only thing I dislike about this product is that a little does not go a long way and that I can't use it to clean my sponges because it doesn't work as well with sponges. When I owned this product I did use all of it because it worked, but the amount of product you get does not last because you need a lot to get the brush super clean. Baby shampoo is a dupe for this in my opinion, but I would suggest this because it is specifically designed to clean the brushes unlike baby shampoo. Overall I would recommend this to anyone who does not have a lot of brushes or who doesn't clean them very often because even though it works well you need lots of product to get the best results. The second brush cleaning product that I have loved and used is the Benjabelle Brush Cleansing Balm. This cleansing balm is unlike anything I have tried before to clean my brushes and sponges (clean both the same way)! At first I was skeptical of this product because I did not see how a product like this could clean brushes effectively, but after I tried it out for the first time I realized how amazing it is! I typically clean smaller eye brush with this because, for me, those are the brushes that get dirtiest and are harder to clean by hand. To us this, you just simply wet the brush and then rub/swirl it on the balm. After you have started to clean it on the balm and you see the makeup start to come off, rinse it and it should be fine! This product is so easy to use and makes cleaning brushes so mush simpler and kind of fun! This product also lasts much longer than other things I have tried, I don't know if that is because of its balm form or because I don't have to try as hard or use as much! Whatever the reason, it works fantastic! I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants to clean their brushes super quick and easy! This would work well for any brush and even sponges! Overall a great brush cleansing product! Rate: 10/10
