I hate it when people say, "girls wear makeup to impress others", "they wear it because they are insecure and hate how they look", and countless other ridiculous statements.
Makeup is such an amazingly creative process and is a very personal thing. Whether you wear it or you don't, it is no ones place to make you feel bad about something that makes YOU happy.
I wear makeup for ME. I wear makeup to fuel my creative energy into something I can wear around all day and show the world what I did. I wear makeup for fun. I wear makeup because it makes ME happy. I wear makeup because putting it on is the part of my day I enjoy the most. I wear makeup because I love to look like a different version of myself everyday. Like I said, I wear it for ME, not to seek approval from anyone else.
I am making this post today because I feel like it is necessary for people to recognize that not everyone wears makeup because they feel like they need it, some people wear it simply because they love to do it and wear their artwork on their body.
I love makeup and how I get creative with it daily. I encourage everyone who loves makeup as much as I do to ignore what others say because their comments do not define you. Makeup has become more than a way to cover a blemish, it is now, to me, a form of artwork.
