$60 LIP KIT!?!?

A few weeks back I decided to take the plunge and buy the Pat Mcgrath Labs Lust 004 Lipstick Kit in the shade 'Flesh'. This product retailed for $60, it is now no longer for sale, sadly, but I thought I would tell you all about it anyway so you can all live vicariously through me if you were hesitant in buying a similar product. This brand has many other different kits that come out as limited edition and sell out quickly when they launch. If you are interested in them they can be found on the Pat Mcgrath website and are usually pretty high in price seeing as this is a luxury makeup brand.

The kit I purchased came in three shades, 'Venom', 'Blood', and the shade I purchased 'Flesh'. The kit includes to lipsticks, one gloss, one pigment, and one glitter. This kit and its contents are suggested to be used as a way to achieve the glitter/metallic lip trend. I have always been a fan of this trend and lusted after this brand so when I heard that this kit was coming out I decided  had to have it and used birthday money as a way to justify my purchase, lol.

Down below I will review all of these products individually, but overall I would give this kit a 8/10. I think the only probably I really have is the price compared to the amount of product you receive. I can look past this however since I never go through a whole lipstick or any of these products anyway. I also feel like each individual product can be easily duped with a cheaper alternative, so you don't need this kit, but it is nice to have! So with that being said, lets talk about each product.

The products like I said before are to be used to achieve a glitter/metallic lip. All the products work like they are supposed to and do the job well. You can use the gloss and pigment together, or the glitter and lipstick. There are endless amounts of options and you can basically use all of these products whatever way you want. This is one of the few product kits that I feel like I have complete creative freedom over. For that reason alone I find these products to be great! No let's talk about each one:

1. Flesh 1 & 2 Lipsticks...the two lipsticks are definitely gorgeous on their own and even more stunning combined with the other products! They are a matte finish and come with 1.5 grams of product each. The shade 'Flesh 1' is a light nude with a yellow/orange undertone. This shade is one of the prettiest light-nude shades I have ever seen. 'Flesh 2', on the other hand, is a darker mauve shade that is like the perfect berry-toned nude. I personally love these two lipsticks and am happy that they are so wearable with or without the other contents of the kit!

2. Clear Vinyl Gloss...the gloss in this kit is the perfect clear gloss! It is very hard to find a clear gloss that is not sticky, but this one is just that with 13 grams of product! I find it so nice for everyday and in combination with the lipsticks or glitter/pigment. I also think including this in the kit was a smart choice because since it is a clear gloss you have more options and creative freedom than if it it were colored. My only negative thing to say is that it is annoying that you can't buy this on its own because if I run out of this before anything else it would suck. Overall, though, I think this gloss is very good!

3. Metallic Gold Pigment...this pigment in combination with the gloss is otherworldly! Like the glitter, this pigment comes with .2 grams of product and is super easy to use. I absolutely love how pigmented this is and how it is more a true yellow gold than anything else I have seen before. Probably the star of the collection!

4. Flesh Microfine Glitter...this glitter is STUNNING! Whether you use it on the lips or eyes this rosy-nude glitter shines bright. I love how easy this product is to use because I thought glitter lips would be hard to achieve when in reality they are not. This comes with only .2 grams, but in reality I will never use all of it so its not that much of a problem. Overall a nice glitter for any number of uses!
